Mother Nature 2

I suppose that this one doesn't require an introduction.

It is the good old Mangoes... also from my backyard.

The last one is ripe and ready to eat.

Mangoes ... to DIE for!! You have no idea how MUCH I love eating them .. but here they arrive unripe (I know I could give them time to ripen) and just barely ever taste the way I remember them from Calcutta where I almost exclusively lived from mangoes and lichies for a short while! You have them right in your backyard?? My GOD - what a luxury!!!
Beautiful pictures Jac - GREAT!

Jac..I cant believe its in your backyard. How lovely I would die to have something like that in my backyard. Just to look at. God do I love mangoes. It is indeed the fruit of the Gods. I wish my guava tree was like your mango. Did u see the pic of my thin tall guava with a few leaves.

You die for mangoes!!! ???

They are more mouth watering for me in unripe condition as I prefer to eat the unripe with red chilly powder and salt. Yummy, you know?

Yes, it is in my backyard, and mind you, all these pictures I post in this series are from my backyard.
Thanks.

Yes, and I have many more to share with you from my backyard.
Thanks.

Jac - don't take that so seriously ... of course not REALLY die!!! You eat them in UNRIPE condition?? Hard like a stone? With chilly-powder and salt??? You really confused me now.
Mangoes are SWEET .. but I can't imagine they have ANY taste when unripe ... but you sure triggered my curiosity! I will buy an UNripe one (reluctantly though but I will) and try just that - to eat it with chilli-powder and salt! I will let you know the result ...

For you, my suggestion is that you eat the unripe one with just salt minus the chilly powder.

Check your mail too.

You like it ripe or unripe ?

Jac ... I might just take your advice! This combination scares me a bit .. if my curiosity will get upper hand though, I will try it nevertheless - but VEEEERY carefully, rest assured of that - with a bucket of cold water by my side!!

Wow, mangoes in your own backyard!

Dew drops .. you TOO??? That makes three of you - and me enough curious that I MUST try it! I can't even IMAGINE that tastes yummy, being crazy about the sweet and ripe mangoes.
I will go downtown tomorrow, buy a non-ripe mangoe and some chilli-powder ... and report back to you guys - in case I'll survive that attempt!! :)
Alone the thought of chilli-powder makes my sweat-glands go into turbo-mood already ...

I almost bought one this morning when I went to the grocery store.

Ok ... here's my report: I DID buy a HARD mangoe today and some chilly-powder, peeled the mangoe and cubed it. Then I salted it and sprinkled chilli-powder on the pieces - and ate one by one. I have to say I liked it - it was yummy ... but sorry guys - I stay with the SWEET ones ... I just like them better!! I guess our palates are different ... so YOU pluck them from the tree while unripe - and leave a few for me to ripen! Is that a deal?? :)

Well ! if you don't mangoes, I cant't help it. Can I ?
My question is have you ever tried it ?

Any way thanks for coming.

I have a suggestion to your mango drink. Prepare mangoes just like you do for your drink, blend it in a mixie, intead of water add milk and sugar, minus the lemon juice...pour over smashed ice.

But beware !! If you have a boyfriend, you will even forget him while you drink this mango shake.

I think it is a fair deal.

For you it is sweetness that matters but I have a practical mind. LOL.

Let us call it spicy.
